Rules & Playing Conditions
1. Conditions of play:
Conditions
of play for the Central Region Superleague are to be determined by the Central
Region Indoor Cricket Committee. Any
applications for exemptions to the following rules are to be addressed to the
above group by way of the Superleague Co-ordinator, Leigh Kelly.
2. Match Rules:
All games
are to be played according to the NZ Indoor Cricket Council rule book. Any variations are solely under the
jurisdiction of the Central Region Indoor Cricket Committee.
3. Player Registration:
Each team is
permitted to use & register a total of (12) players during the course of
each tournament, and each team must register their players on the official team
registration cards prior to the start of their first tournament game.
The names
originally registered cannot be altered or extended in any form and only those
players registered prior to the commencement of their teams first game will be
eligible to play in the tournament.
Each team may
use a maximum of 8 players per match, and these players must be registered on
the official match registration/scoresheets prior to
the toss for each game being taken.
4. Scheduled start times:
All teams
are required to be present 15 minutes prior to their game time. Additionally the team captain or other
designated person must complete the game card at least 10 minutes prior to the
game. Non completion of the game card by
the stated time will result in a default of the game.
5. Match Format:
All matches
will be played on a 6 balls per over basis.
One new
ball will be provided per match
6. Match Points:
Win 4 Points
Draw 2 Points
Loss 0 Points
Default
Win 8 Points
Default
Loss -8 Points
4 Quad
points are available in every game. A quad
point is achieved by scoring more runs that the oppositions corresponding
partnership. If a quad is tied, the quad
then jackpots to the next partnership.
If the last partnership is tied then the winner of the third partnership
takes the quad.
7. Ladder Position:
To determine
the finishing order of teams at the conclusion of the round robin section of
the competition the following order will be followed: Highest Total Points
(Match Points and Skins Points), the Highest number of Outright Wins (if equal
on total points), then highest number of Skins Points (if equal on total points
and outright wins) and finally by the highest Run Rate Percentage (if equal on
all the above)
Note – For this purpose a drawn match will
be counted as one half of one outright win.
8. Tournament Champions:
Premier Mens – The top two teams in each section
will play off in semi finals with the winners contesting the Grand Final
Premier Mixed – The winner will be determined by
ladder position.
Open Mens – The top team in each section will play in the
Grand Final.
Masters – The two top teams at the completion of round
robin play will contest the Grand Final
9. Tournament Points:

The team in
each respective grade with the highest tournament points will be crowned
overall Superleague Champions for 2009.
10. Fees:
Cost
per team is $250.00 per tournament.
All
teams must be entered in all 4 tournaments.
Team
defaulting a tournament must pay $250.00.
11. Player Eligibility:
Players
can only represent 1 team in a grade and 1 team per round.
Players
cannot change down a grade once they have played two or more tournaments for
that respective grade, (this only concerns the Premier Mens Grade).
Any teams
failing to adhere to the above eligibility will result in those teams being
considered at default.
The above
eligibility rules apply for NZ Indoor Cricket Club Championships.
12. Mixed Cricket:
Teams
must play with a minimum of 4 females.
Bowling rules apply ie: no male is permitted to bowl in a manner that
intimidates the female striker. This
includes fast bowling, short pitched bowling and any delivery that spins
excessively and which, in the opinion of the umpire, is beyond the capabilities
of the female striker.
13. Rebowling of wides and no balls:
All wides and no balls bowled in the
final over of any partnership are eligible to be rebowled at the request of the
batters, except where a wicket has fallen off such a delivery.
