Competition
Rules & Playing Conditions
1. Conditions of play:
Conditions of
play for the Central Region Superleague are to be determined
by the Central Region Indoor Cricket Committee. Any
applications for exemptions to the following rules are to be
addressed to the above group by way of the Superleague
Co-ordinator, Leigh Kelly.
2. Match Rules:
All games are
to be played according to the NZ Indoor Cricket Council rule
book. Any variations are solely under the jurisdiction of
the Central Region Indoor Cricket Committee.
3. Player Registration:
3.1
Each
team is permitted to use & register a total of 12 players
during the course of each tournament, and each team must
register their players on the official team registration
cards prior to the start of their first tournament game.
3.2
The names
originally registered cannot be altered or extended in any
form and only those players registered prior to the
commencement of their teams first game will be eligible to
play in the tournament.
3.3
Each team may
use a maximum of 8 players per match, and these players must
be registered on the official match registration/scoresheets
prior to the toss for each game being taken.
4. Match Format:
4.1
All matches
will be played on a 6 balls per over basis.
4.2
One new ball
will be provided per match
5. Match Points:
Win 4 Points
Draw 2 Points
Loss 0 Points
Default Win 8 Points
Default Loss
-8 Points
5.1
In addition to
the match points detailed above, the corresponding batting
pairs in each team (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4)
will
compete for an
additional point which will be awarded to the pair that
records the higher partnership total. This point is known
as the skins point.
5.2
One
skins point is offered for each corresponding pair, making a
total of four skins points per game.
5.3
In the
situation where two corresponding pairs score the same
number of runs, the skins point to be awarded for that
partnership will be awarded to the teams that receive the
next skins point.
5.4
In the
situation where the final batting partnerships are tied, the
skins point for that partnership will be awarded to the team
that was awarded the most recent skins point prior to that
partnership.
6. Ladder Position:
To determine
the finishing order of teams at the conclusion of the round
robin section of the competition the following order will be
followed: Highest Total Points (Match Points and Skins
Points), the Highest number of Outright Wins (if equal on
total points), then highest number of Skins Points (if equal
on total points and outright wins) and finally by the
highest Run Rate Percentage (if equal on all the above)
Note
–
For this purpose a drawn match will be counted as one half
of one outright win.
7. Tournament Champions:
Premier Men's
– The winner will be determined by ladder position
Premier Mixed
– The winner will be determined by ladder position.
Open Men's –
The top team in each section will play in the Grand Final.
8. Tournament Points:
Grade Winners
- 5 Points
Grade Runners
Up - 3 Points
3rd Place - 1
Point
The team in
each respective grade with the highest tournament points
will be crowned overall Superleague Champions for 2007.
9. Fees:
Cost per team is $250.00 per tournament.
All teams must be entered in all 4 tournaments.
Team's defaulting a tournament must pay $250.00.
10. Player Eligibility:
10.1
Players can
only represent 1 team in a grade and 1 team per round.
10.2
Players cannot
change down a grade once they have played two or more
tournaments for that respective grade, (this only concerns
the Premier Men's Grade).
10.3
The above
eligibility rules apply for NZ Indoor Cricket Club
Championships.
10.4
Any teams
failing to adhere to the above eligibility rules will result
in those teams being considered at default.
10. Mixed Cricket:
10.1 Teams must play with a minimum of 4 females.
10.2
Bowling rules apply i.e.: no male is permitted to bowl in a
manner that intimidates the female striker. This includes
fast bowling, short pitched bowling and any delivery that
spins excessively and which, in the opinion of the umpire,
is beyond the capabilities of the female striker.
11. Re-Bowling of wides and no balls:
All
wides and no balls bowled in the final over of any
partnership are eligible to be re-bowled at the request of
the batters.
